diy barette

I haven't been doing anything at all, except laundry and sleeping. My two favorite things (not even kidding, I love knowing I have clean clothes). So I thought I would share this little tutorial on how to make a nice personal barrette, probably not cheaper than buying one but this way you can get it just the way you want.

 This is what you'll need.
1. Tiny piece of fabric, whatever color you want, I picked this because it was the cheapest and ugliest I had i my fabric drawer (never waste nice things) and it sort of matches the coloring of the beads.
2. Obviously some of those hair clip thingies, you'll want to get ones with holes
3. Needle and thread
3. Beads or buttons or whatever you want to sew on
4. For extra hold, some textile glue.
Cut out a piece that is twice as wide and a bit longer than the barette.

 Fold and glue together.
Fold in the edges so it doesn't look too home made, and while your at it, stick a bead on the needle and start sewing stuff on.

While you're still sewing on the edge, attach the fabric to the barette.

The you just keep on sewing beads on.

Once you've reached the other edge, you just fold it in and put a few stitches in it

Then you put some glue on it, and attach that shit to the other side. DONE.
(You don't really need to glue it but it keeps it from sliding and showing the metal.)

tip for the self-centered

Today I woke up at noon, feeling about as perky as a piece of poop. As this is my natural state, I wasn't surprised, but it interfered with my plans of having a nice day. Instead I placed myself in my regular spot on the couch with a cup of coffee and continued my new *fun* project I came up with to activate myself, a self portrait diary. How humble and creative of me. I forgot to make one yesterday but here are my two first sketches.

I'm thinking I should give them more time and effort in the future... but personally I think it's a fun idea. Here's another sketch I made today:

And that was my eventful day!

a new world for you and your hair

If you come across some cheap fake flower hair clips, here's something you could do with them.

Most important thing, take a "before" picture for your blog, so every one can see how amazing you are at transforming plain things into magic.

Put glue where you want the glitter, don't glue the petals together plz.

Pour glitter on the flower and shake any excess glitter off and put it back in the container, never waste good glitter.

Now you can look like a wooden nymph, freshly awoken with hair glistening with morning dew. Yes, you are welcome.
